How Do I File for Unemployment Insurance?

In New Hampshire you must apply for unemployment compensation at your local office.

Hours for claims taking in all offices is 8:00am to 4:30pm.

Interstate Claims for Unemployment Compensation are accepted over the telephone. To file Interstate claims (if your claim is against another state because you worked in another state for the past year or because you live in another state, or if you live in New Hampshire but are filing against another state, please call 1-800-266-2252 and listen for your options on the telephone system).

If you live in another state, but within 25 miles of a NH Employment Security office and you file a New Hampshire claim, you must file your claim for benefits in person in a New Hampshire office.
