Unemployment Insurance

If you believe you could lose your job in the near future, you will want to call your credit accounts to check if you have unemployment insurance against the loss of your job. Also check to see if your auto lien holder has loss of income insurance. If so, this can be added onto the existing contract. There could be a fee or possibly no charge at all.

There are 4 types of unemployment insurance policies. These policies ONLY protect your credit payments and include revolving credit cards, bank cards, loans and mortgages. If you have no debt or use cash to pay for everything then these unemployment insurance policies are useless. Monthly expenses which include food, utilities, gas, phone, internet and rent are not covered. In other words, what you need to survive cannot be insured, only what you owe to others.

Credit insurance falls under these 4 categories:

1) Credit Life Insurance pays off your debts if you die.

2) Credit Disability Insurance makes your minimum monthly payments if you become medically disabled.

3) Involuntary Unemployment Credit Insurance makes your minimum monthly payments if you loose your job through no fault of your own.

4) Credit Property Insurance cancels the debt on secured credit purchases for items destroyed by specific incidents. This can include electronics, furniture and jewelry.
